RENATE VAN DYK

Renate van Dyk is a lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in the Overberg region. Based out of Hermanus, this multi-lingual property-law attorney is passionate about the cosmopolitan local community and its buzzing property market. Renate loves working with people and her client base is continually expanding and diversifying as ever more South Africans and foreigners settle permanently in the beautiful region around Walkerbay and its hinterland.

While property-related matters, wills and estates are her fields of choice, she has a vast background in all aspects of law.

A die-hard Tukkie, Renate graduated from the University of Pretoria and this is also where she completed her articles, finishing with the renowned firm Gerhard Botha and Partners. From there she spent some years in high court litigation and commercial work, before leaving private practice for a stint in the corporate world where she worked for Mercedes Benz insurance, as an expert advisor in the legal department. She moved to Hermanus in 2001 and set up her private practice and has not looked back since. Aside from English and Afrikaans, Renate is also fluent in German making her an invaluable advisor to the so-called European ‘swallows’ .
